AP Exam Registration 2027 at Prometric Istanbul: Step by Step
No AP at your school? How to register for the May 2027 AP Exams at the authorised test centre in Istanbul: deadlines, fees, the four registration steps, ID and cancellation rules.
Who can test at Prometric Istanbul?
Prometric is authorised by the College Board to administer the May 2027 AP Exams. Any eligible student can test at its centre in Istanbul, whatever country or school they come from. Eligible students are:
- Students enrolled in secondary school
- Secondary-level students who are homeschooled, study independently or attend virtual schools
- Enrolled students who are ready to take an AP Exam before ninth grade
- Recent secondary-school graduates who need a specific AP Exam for university admission
Your school does not need to offer AP. Course enrolment is required only for AP Computer Science Principles, because it includes a portfolio submission.
2027 registration periods and fees
| Period | Opens | Deadline | Regular exam | Late-testing exam |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Period 1 | 19 September 2026 | 6 November 2026, 11:30 (UTC+8) | USD 239 | USD 275 |
| Period 2 | 18 November 2026 | 5 March 2027, 11:30 (UTC+8) | USD 279 | USD 315 |
Deadlines are given in UTC+8, which is early morning in Europe and the Middle East (06:30 in Istanbul). Finish your registration the day before.
Fees are per exam, and every exam costs USD 40 more in period 2. The "late testing" fee is not a late-registration fee: it applies to exams taken in the late-testing week of 17–21 May.
Register in four steps
Before you start, sign in to your College Board account (My AP) and check under Account Settings that your legal name, date of birth and e-mail exactly match the ID you will bring on exam day. Note your AP ID if you have one; you will need it in step 3.
- Get the join code(s). Join codes for each exam are published on Prometric's page when registration opens. They expire on 5 March 2027.
- Register for your exam(s) in My AP using the join code.
- Complete registration and payment with Prometric, entering your AP ID.
- Confirm your registration status. Registration is not final until both the My AP registration and the Prometric payment are complete, with matching details in both systems.

Prometric does not offer every AP Exam, so check its list for your subject. The test-centre address will be announced in January 2027.
Which exams can you combine in one year?
- You cannot register for the same exam at more than one centre.
- You cannot take two exams scheduled at the same time; move one to the late-testing week.
- You cannot take Calculus AB and Calculus BC in the same year; Precalculus can be combined with either.
- You may take all four Physics exams in the same year.
- Your exam selection cannot be changed after payment.
Exam day: ID and what to bring
- ID: an original, valid passport. Turkish citizens and residents without a passport may bring an original government-issued ID with their name and a recognisable photo. Photocopies are not accepted, and the name must match the legal name in your College Board account.
- Device: most 2027 exams are digital in the Bluebook app. Bring an approved device with Bluebook installed, a charger or power bank, a pen or pencil and any subject-specific materials such as a calculator. Tablet users need an external keyboard. Prometric does not provide devices.
- Time: arrive at least 30 minutes early. Late or ineligible students are not admitted and are not refunded.
Cancellations and refunds
- Rescheduling is not permitted.
- You can request a cancellation until 5 March 2027; a USD 80 fee applies per exam.
- There are no refunds for no-shows, missing ID or not bringing a testing device.
Five common mistakes
- A name in the College Board account that does not match the ID
- Registering in My AP but not paying Prometric, or the other way round
- Misreading the UTC+8 deadline
- Registering for both Calculus AB and BC in the same year
- Arriving without a device that has Bluebook installed
Which APs should you take?
The real question before registering is which APs count for your goal. Several Dutch research universities, for example, accept a national diploma together with at least four AP Exams scored 3–5 for some nationalities, while Germany and Italy accept AP only with a US High School Diploma. Let's choose the right APs for your target country and degree in a free pre-assessment.
